All of these images show tone and they are all taken in black and white, although tone can be shown in colour photographs. Tone is often shown with help of the lighting, as where the light hits will have a lighter tone that where it does not and in the hollows of whatever it is in the photograph it will be a darker tone as less light will be hitting it. In most of the images above the shadows have the darkest tone, most are black and the sun or the light source has the lightest tone, white. In the first photo there is a lot of different tones that all contrast with one another, the tree has darker tones on grey where as the grass and the sky are lighter shades of grey so they contrast with the dark tree.
