Colour- Definition post

Dictionary definition of 'colour';

'The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light.'

Describing words of 'colour';

Bright, bold, pastel, brash, cold, warm, dark, deep, festive, fluorescent, harsh, light, monochrome,  vibrant, neutral.

The first image i have chosen to write about is 3 pastel colour balloons against the light blue sky.
I like this picture as i like how all of the colours in it are all pastel colours, including the background, i feel if the background was a dark colour, although it was contrast i don't think the picture would have the same affect. The use of the pastel colours in this image give an almost innocent feel, most likely due to pastel colours being linked to babies and young children, so if the background was a darker colour, like black, than the image wouldn't look as innocent as t does not with a pastel blue background.

The second is of a sunset. I decided to write about this image as there are a lot of colours in this particular picture that all join together to create this serene image. I like this image as the bright yellow/gold of the sun against the dark blue/black of the clouds and sky contrast well and  like how the clouds are lighter at the back than the front. The black shade of the plants again contrast well against the blue sky and the red clouds created by the sun. 

The third image is of  long row of houses that are all painted different vibrant colours. I like this picture as the angle of the picture makes the row of houses look endless and each house is a different bold colour against the almost pastel blue sky.

The final image is a tropical underwater scene. I like this picture as the brightness of all of the fish contrast against the dark blue of the ocean background, even the blue fish contrast as they have a small amount of yellow and black on them which stops them from blending into the background.
